Russia Calls to Use the SCO’s and CSTO’s Experience to Solve the Afghan Problem

Russia's Ambassador to the UN Vitaly Churkin declared that Russia calls the world community to actively use the SCO’s and CSTO's potential and experience in fight against the drug menace and the threat of international terrorism coming from Afghanistan. The Russian diplomat made this declaration on the threshold of the international conference on Afghanistan that will be held under the aegis of SCO on March 27 in Moscow. According to Churkin, increase in anti-narcotic and anti-terrorist protection around the Afghan state will not only allow to significantly reduce financial nourishment of the extremists, but will also facilitate the quick stabilization both in Afghanistan and in the whole region.
