In Dushanbe airport two Il-76 aircrafts of MES of Russia landed. They delivered the first consignment of aid to the Tajik capital. These are frame tents, mobile electric power stations, warm clothes and foodstuffs. All that will be put under orders of Tajik rescue service and will be used in case of emergency situations in the republic. Another transport aircraft with humanitarian cargo is expected to arrive to Tajikistan too.

Temporary Charge d'Affaires of Russia to Tajikistan Viacheslav Svetlichny notes that the cargo total weight is almost 100 tons; total cost of the humanitarian operation is about 33 million roubles. Furthermore, Russia renders extraordinary humanitarian assistance to Tajikistans population as consistent with World Food Program, said the diplomat.

A decision on this operation was taken last year. On the same occasion the parties agreed the list of the required documents. Tajikistan, situated in the earthquake hazard zone, very often suffers from earthquakes, and during rain and flood period constantly needs the renovation of the rescue services technical basis.

We are very much obliged to the Russian leadership, MES of Russia for the assistance rendered. We hope for further cooperation, said Vice Chairman of the Committee for Matters Relating to Civil Defence and Emergency Situations under the Government of Tajikistan Bakhtier Oripov.

In its turn, Tajikistan is ready to render assistance to Russia in rescuers training for work in the mountains. Tajik rescue school has wealth of experience in conducting operations in the mountains.
