Nursultan Nazarbayev: SCO Has Great Prospects

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization has great prospects, the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev stated in his interview with the Xinhua News Agency on the eve of his visit to China. “Kazakhstan supports this organization very significantly. It was created for the benefit of our states, our countries. Its primary task is economic cooperation, the second one is struggle against challenges of the present: terrorism, extremism and separatism. The intercourse between the organization members in the trade and economic sphere is continuously going up to a new level, because there is confidence, goodwill and friendship between the countries. I believe that SCO has great prospects,” said Kazakhstan’s leader commenting the organization significance. In his interview Nursultan Nazarbayev mentioned the intensive contacts between Kazakhstan’s and China's leaders showing the attention given by Astana and Beijing to each other. According to him, since the date of declaration of independence of Kazakhstan the bilateral relations have been fast developing. The President of RK underlined the high level of trade and economic relations between the two countries and allied relations both states maintain in struggle against extremism, separatism and terrorism. The President of Kazakhstan highly appreciated the measures the Chinese government had taken in struggle against consequences of global financial crisis, and told about what Kazakhstan is undertaking to struggle against crisis. Kazakhstan’s leader’s visit will be held on April 15-19.
