The “Mobile guide” is an enhanced analogue of usual “printed guides” in English and Russian. The new service is realized in the form of the internet portal inekb.ru, optimized for working with mobile devices. The guide is accessible for each holder of a cellular telephone, smartphone or pocket computer regardless of model or service provider.
According to the designers, any guest using the new service and his own cellular telephone will be able to arrange a tour of Yekaterinburg by himself – to learn its history, architecture, places of interest, museums and theatres.
The guide contains phone numbers of consulates, emergency services, hotels, public catering establishments, leisure places, as well as public transport routes, flight timetable, train and bus schedules. With the aid of the electronic map embedded in the guide one can easily orient oneself with respect to the terrain. Apart from the text information, the guide contains audio excursions in English and Russian.
